With how cold the weather here in BC has been, I figured it’s time I throw some yummy, cozy, warm drink ideas at you in case you are like me and prefer to be tucked away inside these days!
There is nothing like a warm drink in your hand with a cozy blanket and a good read or a good show on Netflix, am I right?
Plain tea doesn’t always make the cut, so I thought I’d shout out a couple of my delicious favorites to make it a little extra unique for you!
Let’s start with my latest, new favorite that I have been drinking every single night..
This drink is actually amazing. The way I like to drink it is to heat 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk, add 1.5 TBS of latte powder into the hot milk, and then use my portable blender to ensure its all mixed together, adding some foam on top!
This chocolate latte tastes like a hot chocolate without the after feeling of complete garbage from straight sugar.
It also includes healing herbs and spices such as ashwagandha, which is a powerful herb that has been proven to help relieve stress and anxiety, as well as cardamom, cinnamon, cocao powder, and nutmeg adding the benefits of magnesium and antioxidants.
It is sweetened with coconut palm sugar which I absolutely love because it doesn’t leave me feeling bloated and lethargic after I drink it.
It is an amazing feeling when you can enjoy a warm drink that is both tasty and nourishing right before bed!
Every morning starts with a warm cup of coffee. I have fallen in love with the flavor of Kicking Horse coffee. They have dark, medium, and light choices and I tend to go with the medium or dark!
Additionally, I am a huge cream fan. I like my coffee strong, but I like it creamy. I have found the Bliss Coffee Mate creamers to be a perfect medium.
I put 1TBS of either the sweet crème, caramel, or vanilla flavored Bliss in my coffee every morning.
You won’t find me missing my large, warm cup of coffee while I read in the morning to start my day on the right foot!
Homemade Almond Milk Hot Chocolate
Three ingredients: Unsweetened Almond Milk, Cocao Powder, and Pure Maple Syrup (or honey)
All you need to do is pour your almond milk (or coconut milk) into a saucepan and bring it to a boil. Once you’ve reached a boil, remove from the heat and add 1-2 Tbs of cocao powder and 1-2 Tsp pure maple syrup and wix together until it is all combined!
If you want to be extra, you can add some peppermint and whipped cream on top!
This is an easy, naturally sweetened, dairy free option so you never have to miss out on another cup of hot chocolate again.
