Tips To Fall Asleep At Night (with video!)

There are a lot of factors that can negatively affect our ability to fall asleep: pain, stress, anxiety just to name a few.

I am a firm believer that our quality of sleep plays a huge role in the way we feel, even about ourselves.

When we suffer mentally, we suffer physically… This has been a huge part of my own life.

If you are anything like me, it isn’t just that you can’t wind down or your body won’t let you sleep…though, that is also a very relevant issue for me…but I also feel pain in almost every position, especially when I lay down, and I NEED something to help numb that.

So I have developed a routine that I do every single night before bed that has helped me relax my mind and my muscles to get that numbing effect so that I can fall asleep.

I go through a series of 4 steps:

  1. Heat up my heating pack for 1 minute and 30 seconds to get it nice and warm before hopping into bed
  2. Apply Japanese Mint oil or Doterra Deep blue to the areas where I feel pain and gently massage it in (sometimes I mix these two- refer to the video below to understand why)
  3. After applying the oil, I place the heating pack on my neck or the area that hurts the most
  4. Apply Doterra Lavendar to my temples and/or chest for relaxation of the mind

After these steps, I always spend a quality amount of time reading. This is the cherry on top!!

Some nights that looks like 5 minutes, others it looks like 30 minutes, but this simply helps take my mind off the day I had and helps me escape reality! (a.k.a- stress reliever!!)

All in all, this routine has truly been a game changer for me and I highly recommend you try it.

In this video, I go into detail and give you a visual of what this routine looks like for me.

Even if you don’t deal with physical pain, this routine can still help you wind down and relax to get a deeper sleep.

And remember… quality sleep= healthy mind = beauty!
